Does DarkBytes support multi-factor authentication?

Answer

Yes - DarkBytes supports multi-factor authentication ("MFA") using the "Google Authenticator" app which uses a Time-based one-time password ("TOTP") algorithm.

Google GSuite Compatibility

Google GSuite Single Sign-on is enabled then multi-factor authentication must be setup for the user within GSuite and not DarkBytes.

Enabling MFA

In the DarkBytes portal, open "Account" and then click "My Account".  From here, change the toggle for "Enable MFA" from "False" to "True".

Once set to "True", the user will be given a QR Code which represents the secret for the multi-factor authentication algorithm.  The user should download Google Authenticator on their mobile device and scan the QR code.

The final step is to enter the code to validate the seed. Enter the code from the Google Authenticator app and press "Activate MFA".

From this point forward, an authentication code will be required for the user upon login.

Removing MFA

In the DarkBytes portal, open "Account" and then click "My Account".  From here, change the toggle for "Enable MFA" from "True" to "False".
